Sheikh Hamad Award for Translation and International Understanding
The Sheikh Hamad Prize for Translation and International Understanding is one of the most prestigious literary awards in the world, and the Arabic-Kazakh translation language pair was included in the 2022 competition for Best Translation from Arabic to Kazakh, which has been received by Ykhtiyar Paltore, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of KazNU named after al-Farabi. More than ten books translated by Y. Paltore from Arabic into Kazakh, including several treatises by al-Farabi had been considered by the organization of Sheikh Hamad Award for Translation and International Understanding. The award ceremony took place on January 29, 2023 in Doha, the capital of Qatar.
