INTERNATIONAL ONLINE POETRY FESTIVAL "NOWRUZ FEST" WAS HELD

 

March 18, 2022 at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of KazNU Al-Farabi hosted the International Poetry Online Festival "NOWRUZ FEST", dedicated to the common holiday of Nauryz for all countries of the East.

Nauryz - the day of the spring equinox is celebrated by more than 300 million people around the world as the beginning of a new year and has been celebrated for more than 3000 years in the countries of the Black Sea basin, the Caucasus, Central Asia, Iran, Pakistan, the Middle East and other regions. Nowruz promotes the values ​​of peace and solidarity between generations and within families, as well as reconciliation and good neighborliness.

Nauryz plays an important role in strengthening ties between peoples based on mutual respect and the ideals of peace and good neighborliness. The word Nauryz (Navruz, Novruz, Navruz, Nooruz, Nevruz) means "new day" and is celebrated as the beginning of the year, the beginning of spring. The theme of Nauryz has been sung for centuries and is a national holiday, which clearly shows that every spring people are waiting for something new and hoping for the best.

Dreams and wishes about the coming of spring in Eastern poetry are very relevant for modern society. Today it is clear that with the advent of spring, everyone is making new plans and waiting for innovations and changes. For everyone who is excited about the arrival of spring and has high hopes for the future, it is very important to take a break and think about common values. To this end, the International Online Poetry Festival "NOWRUZ FEST" was held with the participation of several universities to celebrate the common holiday with the reading of poets' poems. The cultural event "NOWRUZ FEST" was attended by teachers and students of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of KazNU Al-Farabi and students of a number of universities in Kazakhstan and Pakistan, Tajikistan, Iran, Dagestan and Uzbekistan. The participants read poems about Nauryz and exchanged opinions that the Nauryz holiday will always connect countries and different cultures.
