29-30 March 2016 held Republican Subject Olympiad on specialty "5V020900-Oriental Studies". In the competition was attended by 25 students from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Ablai khan KazUIR&WL. In the first round the participants showed the level of Chinese language and wrote an essay. According to the results of the first round, 10 students passed the second round. In the second round, each participant presented his project in Chinese and answered questions of the jury. At the end of two rounds, prizes won:

The first place – Beybit Aidar- the 4th course student of KazNu named after al-Farabi;

The second place - Sahanov Ablay – the 4th course student of ENU named after L.N.Gumilyov;

The second place – Murzageldina Laura – the 2nd course student of KazNu named after al-Farabi;

The third place – Kabesova Moldir – the 3rd course student of KazNu named after al-Farabi;

The third place – Ramazanova Aynur – the 4th course student of Ablai khan KazUIR&WL;

The third place – Kurpasova Zhuldyz - the 4th course student of ENU named after L.N.Gumilyov.

All winners of the Olympiad were awarded by MES of RK diplomas. Sponsor of the Olympiad the Confucius Institute at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University gave valuable gifts to the winners. In addition, the Consulate General of China in Almaty awarded tree winners a scholarship to study in China. Holders of grants can choose their own educational institutions in China.
