Master class on the thesis «Monitoring of Ile Alatau glacial systems using remote sensing data»
On April 4, 2024, within the framework of the international conference of students and young scientists “Farabi Alemi”, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of KazNU. al-Farabi lecturer of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology Abdullaeva A.S. conducted a master class on the topic “Monitoring glacial systems of Ile Alatau using remote sensing data.” Participants in the master class received practical knowledge on deciphering glaciers using GIS technologies, methods and algorithms for preparing optical satellite images and DEMs, automation and semi-automation of mapping glacier boundaries, and determining the morphometric parameters of glaciers.
