On May 12, 2015 the Round table on "Modern Kazakhstani Family: Problems and Prospects" devoted to the International Day of Family was held at the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of al-Farabi KazNU.

Leaders and representatives of 13 non-governmental organizations, active in providing assistance to the family, scientists, teachers - al-Farabi KazNU, Abay KazNPU, KazSWPU, ALMAU, UIB, S.D. Asfendiyarov Medical Academy, representatives of the Department for Youth Policy of Akimat of Almaty, the Publishing House "Kazakh University", Scientific Library of al-Farabi KazNU, the representatives of the French magazine, students.

The purpose of the Round table: Unite efforts of scientific researchers, practitioners in the field of family therapy and social assistance to families, activists of non-governmental organizations for research and the creation of complex programs of the harmonious development of the family institution in Kazakhstani society. The introduction of university training programs and research in the field of family will contribute to the successful implementation of the "Strategy 2050".

The roundtable discussed such issues as the development of the family institution, the role of family values in the society, changing ideas and norms about family relations, serious problems relating to family, gender relationship, sexuality. Practitioners highlighted efficient technologies of psychological counseling, social assistance to families, family mediation. The importance of joint efforts of university scientists and teachers, governmental and public organizations for in-depth study and solution of urgent problems of the family, media coverage of technology solutions, the development of educational programs, family education were marked. In the frame of the Round Table The Book Exhibition organized by the Publishing House "Kazakh University" and the Library of al-Farabi KazNU was held.
