Winter training seminar of the School of Curators-Advisors

On January 20-21, 2021, with the support of the Department of Educational Work of Al-Farabi KazNU, a winter training seminar of the School of Curators-Advisors was held.

Winter trainings have become a good tradition. The winter workshop has been held for 11 years in a row. A feature of this year is the remote format, with the desire to preserve the training approach.

At the seminars, the director of the Department for educational work, associate professor Zh.D. Esimova, trainer of the Department of General and Applied Psychology of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science – A.K. Mynbayeva, assoc.p. Z.M. Sadvakasova, assoc.p. E.K. Kalymbetova, senior teacher A.A. Liyasova, coordinator of the Department of Educational Work Gulshat Uabidenovna Akhmetalieva.

More than 180 curators-advisors of the university took part in the seminars.

Seminar topics:

- Psychological stability of personality in the work of a curator with students – associate professor Z.M. Sadvakasova – Department of General and Applied Psychology, Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science, Al-Farabi KazNU

- Formation of life stability of the student in the conditions of distance learning – associate professor E.K. Kalymbetova – Department of General and Applied Psychology, Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University;

- Ways of psychological support for 1st year students to adapt to stress tolerance – senior teacher A.A. Liyasova – Department of General and Applied Psychology, Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University;

- Development of motivation and will of students: technologies of self-development in conditions of distance learning – Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor A.K. Mynbayeva – Department of General and Applied Psychology, Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science, Al-Farabi KazNU

In addition to the training exercises, MOOCs and videos were recommended for self-development of students.

Curators-advisers shared their experience of working with students, their motivation and support, events from student university life, when a skilled curator can successfully motivate students to overcome difficulties and move forward even in a difficult and sometimes negative situation or event.

As the curators-advisers themselves noted, most of them are strong-willed individuals and have such qualities as purposefulness, decisiveness, responsibility, justice, and at the same time kindness, love for students and work, the ability to inspire, motivate people around them, and support them. The educational technique of "Personal example" can inspire students to be or become confident, self-organized, strong-willed professionals, to look forward with optimism and positiveness.
