CAMPUS IN CAMPUS

   Within the Winter School at KazNU students of the University of Tsukuba (Japan) together with students of the Department of Oriental Studies of the Chair of Far East held an International Student Forum titled "Elderly Population Issues in Kazakhstan and Japan."

      This issue has been in the focus of the students of the University of Tsukuba, who are specializing in the study of Central Asia. Joint scientific cooperation was demonstrated in the presentations submitted by students. Students of KazNU showed their results in the presentations offered in Japanese language. Whereas, Japanese students in response made their presentations in Russian language. The atmosphere of full understanding and academic debate was created in the classroom.

     It was a third time for the students of the University of Tsukuba to have an opportunity to get acquainted with politics, economics and culture of Kazakhstan and Central Asia within the Winter School at KazNU, along with the study of Russian language at the Faculty of preliminary training. The following students as Sh. Kitamura, Sh. Niiya, K. Kojima, T. Kikuta, Y. Amano, N. Ishibashi, S. Goto were awarded Certificates of Completion and Transcripts of Completion of the course entitled "Regional Studies. Politics, Economics and Culture of Central Asia".

     Students of the University of Tsukuba had the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the home environment of modern Kazakh family by participating in the "Homestay Programe", which is very popular among Japanese students.

At the end of the Forum the Kazakh side performed a musical concert by presenting once again Kazakhstan's culture in song and dance.
