The student of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took 1st place at the International competition in South Korea

At the International competition in South Korea on the 12th essay contest and oratory Taldybaev Zhanadil showed the best result among foreign students. In the International competition participated representatives from Malaysia, Bulgaria, Russia, USA, Ukraine, Indonesia, Mongolia, China, Japan, Monaco and Rwanda.

"The theme of my speech was the Korean popular culture. The victory was hard. Each participant was a strong competitor, but I wanted to come forward and tell as much as possible, to show a high level of my skills. My victory is a merit of highly qualified teachers of the home university, namely due Department of Far East of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University."- shared the 3rd year student Taldybaev Zhanadil. For achieving of good results in International competition Zhanadil was awarded a cash prize of one thousand dollars.

The contest was organized by the Hannam University supported by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Korea. Holding such events is an incentive for increasing interest among foreign students to study Korean language, promotes the establishment of close scientific and educational ties with world universities and extends the forms of cooperation.

Students of Korean branch of the Department of Far East on a regular basis participate in International competitions and prove their competitiveness. Every year in the universities of Korea, about 30 graduate and undergraduate students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Department of Far East undertaking internship and study.  Not only successfully completing individual curriculum, students adequately represent Kazakhstan in all scientific, educational and cultural events held in Seoul with the participation of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kazakhstan Association of Students in Korea.
