Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan is celebrated annually on December 16. This year our country celebrates the 30th anniversary of the proclamation of the state independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan by the Supreme Council. From that moment on, Kazakhstan, expressing the will of the people, recognizing the priority of individual rights and freedoms enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, confirming the right of the Kazakh nation to self-determination, proceeding from the principles of civil society and the rule of law, implements a peace-loving policy.

     In connection with this significant event for Kazakhstanis, teacher of KazNU Foreign Languages Department Otetileuova A.Zh and associate professor Shayakhmet A.K held an event, topic of which is "30 years of courage". This event was held on December 10, 2021 within the framework of project “Brighten the corner where you are”.

     Solemn online event was held on the ZOOM distance learning platform. Objectives of the event are to activate creative imagination of students, their desire to be involved in national artistic tradition; to consolidate and supplement students' knowledge about historical and cultural heritage of the Republic of Kazakhstan; to foster a sense of patriotism, love and respect for the Motherland: its nature, customs, traditions; friendly relations between people of different nationalities. Participants were 1st year students of Oriental Studies’ Faculty.

    The event was held in English in the form of a quiz and reports in 3 languages. The basis of the lesson is students' reports on given topics:

1. «How did we gain our independence? » (in Kazakh).

2. «The role of the First President Nazarbayev N.A. in the formation of independent Kazakhstan» (in Russian).

3. «History of Kazakhstan Independence Day» (in English).

4. «30 years of independence: Main achievements of Kazakhstan» (in Russian).

     One of the most important components of Kazakh model of public administration is the role of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy. In her speech student Amangeldina A.A., noted that revival of Kazakhstan's statehood, socio-political and socio-economic life of the country as a whole was influenced by the Elbasy Nazarbayev N.A. Thanks to balanced policy of Elbasy, the spirit of our people, its consciousness, thinking, moral and spiritual values, traditions, its cultural and historical heritage have been revived in all spheres.

    Over the years of independence, Kazakhstan has turned into a state with a developing economy and democratic foundations. The speaker, student Abaydulla M.E., presented to guests landmark achievements of our Republic. At the end of her speech, analyzing achievements of Kazakhstan, the speaker stated that country has chosen strategically correct path. And now Kazakhstan is considered by right a regional leader and strives to take its rightful place among 30 countries with the most competitive economy.
