The 16th of February this year, the people of China celebrated the New year on the Eastern calendar. This holiday is considered the most important, bright and long celebrating. The 20th of April students of the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi of the 2nd course of the specialty "two foreign languages" celebrated the Chinese New year. It should be noted that at the initiative of the head of the Department of General linguistics and European languages Professor Madiyeva Gulmira, the subject "Chinese language" as a second foreign language at the faculty of Philology passes for the first time. In the framework «To light up outskirts» the cultural-educational lesson "Chinese new year" was held in the form of intellectual competition. Under the guidance of a teacher Zhumabekten Aigul, the students proudly showed their knowledge of Chinese language and culture. The jury members were foreign students from China, they have highly appreciated Chinese language level of students. Cultural events were also attended by teachers of the faculty.

    Were asked different questions on the history, culture, and literature of China, students shared new and interesting information about the mysterious country of China.

    At the end of the lesson participants sang the famous Chinese song "My friend" that touched heart. Thus, students have created the impression that they are the bridge for the future between the two countries.
