Authors of publications «International Relations and International Law Journal»  determined the «The Best in 2022»

 

On December 23, 2022, the Faculty of International Relations hosted an award ceremony for the winners and nominees of the contest «The Best Research Article of the International Relations and International Law Journal – 2022».

The competition was organized to stimulate research scholars within the framework of research support and solving strategic tasks of the university, improving the level and quality of research publications, as well as increasing the number of citations of them.

The competition commission considered research articles by authors already published in the «International Relations and International Law |Journal» in the period 2019, 2020, 2021 years.

The winners and nominees were determined by the following criteria:

- Number of views or readings in DB ResearchGate;

- Number of citations in DB ResearchGate;

- Number of citations in DB GoogleScholar;

- Number of citations in DB SCOPUS;

According to the results of the competition, the winners were awarded in the following categories:

 

- In the nomination – «The Best Research Article by the Author(s) of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in the «International Relations and International Law Journal - 2022»   and 75,000 tenge – won the article «Iran's Geopolitical Interests in Central Asia» by authors Abdallah Mohd Dyab Al-Nuimat, Dzhakubayeva S.T., Zhekenov D.K., Azimov A.A.;

- In the nomination – «The Best Research Article by the Author(s) of the from Other Universities of Kazakhstan in the «International Relations and International Law Journal» - 2022» and 50,000 tenge – won the article «Problems of Interaction and Interdependence of the EU and the EAEU in the Energy Sphere» by the authors Sarybaev M.S. (Satbayev University), Malbakov D. (International University of Information Technologies).

- In the nomination – «The Best Research Article by a Foreign Author(s) in the «International Relations and International Law Journal – 2022» and 50,000 tenge won  the article «The Biden White House and the New Foreign Policy in Central Asia» by Mendis P. (National Zhengzhi University, Taiwan) and Oralbayev S. (Wuhan University, China).

 

And 3 authors in each nomination (9 in total) were awarded with certificate of achievements of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Incentive certificates were awarded:

In the frame of the nomination – «The Best Research Article by the Author(s) of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in the «International Relations and International Law Journal - 2022»:

-         А. Yermekbayev, A. Khairuldayeva, Zh. Medetkhanov for the research article «Russia's geopolitics in the Black sea region»

-         G. Baikushikova, R. Utkelbay, Hu Haixin for the research article «Evolution of World Trade Wars: The Historical Aspect»

-         D. Zhekenov, Hu Haixin, F. Orazakynkyzy for the research article «Some obstacles of biletaral business relations between Kazakhstan and China»

 

In the frame of the nomination – «The Best Research Article by the Author(s) of the from Other Universities of Kazakhstan in the «International Relations and International Law Journal» - 2022» incentive certificates were awarded:

-         T. Kamaldzhanova for the research article – «The Contribution of Sustainable Livelihoods Analysis to Understanding of Poverty in the Developing World»;

-         S. Nurdavletova, Zh. Zharmakhanova (L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University) for the research article – «Analysis of the Implementation of the Central Asia Water & Energy Program in the Framework of New EU Strategy for Central Asia».

-         B. Baktybekova (Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages.), B. Batyrkhan (R.B. Suleimenov Institute of Oriental Studies) for the research ariticle – «Digital diplomacy in the context of soft power (example of France and China)»

 

In the frame of the nomination «The Best Research Article by a Foreign Author(s) in the «International Relations and International Law Journal – 2022» incentive certificates were awarded:

-         E. Varpahovskis (HSE, Russian Federation) for the article – «Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) as instruments of soft power and public diplomacy»;

-         Berny Sèbe (Birmingham University, UK) for the research article – «BREXIT and empire: the role of colonial nostalgia in the argument for «Global Britain»;

-         Gregory Gleason (George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies, Germany) for the research article – «Principles of comparative foreign policy»;

 

The ceremony of awarding was attended by authors of research articles of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, authors of research articles of other republican Universities, as well as foreign authors of articles (online).

All the winners and nominees thanked the organizers of the contest and noted that this is a great incentive in the further promotion of articles published in the journal «International Relations and International Law Journal».

In turn, the organizers of the competition Faculty of International Relations, including the editorial board of the magazine noted that this competition will be a good annual tradition.
