6^th of June, 2016 15⁰⁰ h. in the al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) will be officially opened the UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Development, which will be held in the university administration building, 15th floor, Al-Farabi avenue, 71, Almaty.

 During the joint meeting of the Academic Council and Rectorate of al-Farabi KazNU the agreement between UNESCO and the University will be officially signed, so the UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Development will be assigned to an international UNESCO status. Among the participants at the signing ceremony the General Secretary of National Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ISESCO Ms. A.S. Utegenova, the Director of the UNESCO Cluster Office for Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan Mr. A.S. Shevelev and the Rector of al-Farabi Kazakh National University academician of NAS RK Mr. G.M. Mutanov will be involved. In Kazakhstan, it will be the fifth UNESCO Chair recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Culture Organization.
