Educational-methodical section (here in after EMC) - is a consultative and Advisory body for educational-methodic and scientific-methodological issues in the field of higher and postgraduate education, part of the Republican educational-methodical Council of the Ministry of education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The EMС in its activity is guided by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On education», Regulations «On the National training and methodical Council of higher and postgraduate education» and other documents of the Ministry of Education Science of Republic of Kazakhstan.

Educational-methodical section on the basis of the Kazakh national University named after al-Farabi was established in 1992.

Main directions of Educational-methodical section’s activity:

1) organization of working out of the state compulsory standards of higher and postgraduate education;

2) organization of working in standard programme for higher and postgraduate education;

3) organization of expertizing of textbooks and manuals for higher and postgraduate education;

4) participation in the opening of new specialties;

5) cooperation with the Department of higher and postgraduate education, National Academy of education named. I. Altynsarin, the National testing center, Republican scientific and practical center «Tutorial» and other works

6) methodological consulting universities of the Republic on the issues of organization of the educational process.

Structure of the Educational-methodological Council:

• Management of the activities of the EMC is conducted by the rector of KazNU. al-Farabi G.M. Mutanov.

• Vice-Chairman of the EMC is the Prorector of KazNU named after. al-Farabi D.ZH. Akhmed-Zaki.

• Maintenance of the organizational work, documentation and records management carries out scientific Secretary of the EMC – A.S. Syrgakbaeva

The EMC on the basis of the KazNU al-Farabi includes the following structural units of the educational-methodical Council and the subsection on the group of specialties of higher and postgraduate education.
