Head of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the country has several tasks to create a mature, prosperous New Kazakhstan. He noted that one of the main tasks is to educate a healthy, conscious, educated, scientific and cultural generation. For its implementation, a lot of work is being done in the country. In particular, the increase in the number of educational grants, the opening of branches of leading foreign universities in the country. 

In this regard, various conferences and large - scale events were held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in order to contribute to the instructions of the president and prepare educated, passionate specialists for science, as well as on April 12-the day of Science Workers of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Within the framework of this holiday, a delegation from the French University of Poitiers paid an official visit to the Faculty of mechanics and mathematics.The University of Poitiers is one of the first educational institutions opened in Europe.

Among the graduates who studied at the University of Poitiers were such prominent people as Francis Bacon, Joaschen du Belle, Barnabe Brisson, Francois Viet, Rene Descartes, Francois Rabelais, Onezim Reclu. Seeing these figures, you can see that the university is high-level. The delegation included Professor Julien Michel, head of the Department of mathematics of the University of Poitiers, associate professor Farida Yenikeeva, head of the Department of International Economics, Associate Professor Philippe Rojon. They gave detailed information about their university. He presented the scientific achievements of scientists in the field of mathematics and showed that there are scientific groups in the following areas:

- Algebra, geometry and analysis;

- Differential equations with independent derivatives;

- Probability and statistics;

- Data analysis and calculation.

They also exchanged experience in the educational process. 

 During the meeting, Dean of the Faculty of mechanics and mathematics of kaznu, doctor of Ph. D., professor U. S. Abdibekov proposed to strengthen relations between the two universities in the field of mathematics.Plans in the field of education, scientific research and projects, training of qualified personnel were worked out.
