On March 31st 2009 the KazNU and Journalism Faculty will hold Young correspondents Forum. KazNU rector B.T. Zhumagulov along with representatives of various mass-media, international organizations and youth organizations of Kazakhstan will take part in this event.
On March 19th Journalism Faculty had the “Open Doors Day”. From 10 AM to 5 PM future students were able to get interesting information from chiefs and teachers of the Faculty.
Journalism Faculty senior teacher Olga Petrovna Lozhnikova has visited Karaganda city recently in order to take part in School Olympics. The competition was held in 65th middle school.
Official delegation of KazNU was headed by Rector B.T. Zhumagulov and Vice-rector for scientific activity N.M. Temirbekov. Other members of the delegation were: professors, doctors U.S. Adibekov, T.A. Karpenjuk, M.M. Burkitbayev, B.M. Muhamediev, G.R. Useinova, G.S. Abdyrayimova, Zh.K. Baimagambetov, F.T. Kukeeva, B.K. Maitanov. Journalism Faculty was represented in the delegation by Prof. Dr. S.H. Barlybayeva.
Professor of telecommunications David Mould from Ohio University has visited KazNU Journalism Faculty. He was invited by the Faculty Dean Dr. Galiya Ibrayeva. He has conducted a master-class for teachers and students.
It is a great step forward in the career of journalist – to work on the state TV-station. That is why so important for students to meet person, who works on that station. Meeting with Aigul Mukei – journalist of the main state TV-station “Khabar” – was a great event in students’ life.
On February 24th 2009 Journalism Faculty of the KazNU has hosted the meeting with leading TV-journalists of “Khabar” Agency.
The Faculty always paid great attention to the convergence of theoretical and practical aspects of students training.
On February, 11th, 2009 has passed presentation of the book in three volumes «the Kazakh journalism» (under the general edition of prof. N.Omashev), organised by UNESCO Chair on studying problems of journalism.
On December 9th 2008 Journalism Faculty KazNU has started the first ever Days of “Egemen Kazakstan” republican newspaper.
