The training course forms the theoretical and methodological basis for the analysis of ideological and aesthetic and genre searches for representatives of the Russian emigration, the study of whose creative work is necessary in the practice of teaching Russian literature in the twentieth century. The discipline is aimed at studying: the diversity of forms of author's consciousness in the comparative aspect; development of skills of independent analytical and interpretative work with the literary text. Upon completion of this module, students should be able to do so: 1. identify, systematize and analyze the leading trends in Russian literature abroad within the framework of the updated program; 2. Define the ideological and aesthetic principles of outstanding representatives of the Russian emigration literature; 3. classify and systematize genre and style innovations; 4. to differentiate between different types of artistic discourse in the context of the historical and cultural situation of the twentieth century; 5. to conduct a qualified discussion of the main issues of studying Russian literature abroad at the university and at school; 6. to classify genre and style innovations within the framework of different literary trends and currents of the Russian emigration literature; 7. improve public speaking skills in the context of discussions; 8. master different ways of presentation of genre interpretations (literary comments, analytical essays, etc.).
