Academic Exchange Programs
The Academic mobility of students, teachers and administrative staff of universities in the frame of the Bolognese process has great importance. The main objective of mobility is to give an opportunity to undergraduates and students to get a various education in the chosen field of study, to provide him access to recognized centers of knowledge, where the leading scientific schools traditionally have been formed .
Program of Academic Exchange of teachers, undergraduates and students of the Chair of the Japanese Study is implemented in several ways:
1. By Grants of the Ministry of the Education and Science of Japan;
2. By Grant of the Japan Foundation
3. Under agreements with universities of Japan. During 2008 - 2011 years 8 teachers, 6 undergraduates and 18 students of the Chair of the Japanese Study have passed and now undergoing language internship in the major universities and the language centers of Japan: Universities: Tsukuba, Vasseda, Asahi, Hiroshima, Keio, Kanazawa, the International Centre of the Study of Japanese Language (city Kansai), etc. Duration of the internships from 15 days to 1 year. The faculty usually passes the two month’s internship in the summer and the students and the undergraduates pass mostly a one-year internship. The undergraduates and students during internships are trained of academic subjects in accordance with the curriculum of the KNU after Al-Farabi, receive cumulative points and after their arrival to the country their credits are offset. The introduction of ECTS - European credit transfer system - is one of the most technically and substantively complex tasks within the Bolognese process. This is a tool, providing transparency and comparability of the material studied and, accordingly, the possibility of academic recognition of qualifications and competencies. The comparability of the curriculum allows students to choose programs appropriated to their receiving qualification, which, subject to successful completion, shall be counted in the KNU after Al-Farabi. The credits reflect the amount of work required to complete each course in relation to the total volume of work necessary for the program of the full academic year at the university, including lectures, seminars, workshops, individual work, examinations and tests.
In the preparatory department of Kazakh National University after Al-Farabi 2 other people - student Ikemi Iwamoto and graduate Saito from the University of Tsukuba have studied in 2010-2011 academic year. Since September 2010 the training of another student from the University of Tsukuba has been planned.
