Department of chemical physics and macromolecular chemistry

The department of macromolecular chemistry on chemical faculty of the Kazakh state university named by C.М. Kirov it has been organized in 1963 and was the third department of a similar structure at universities of the country after Moscow and Leningrad.

The initiative and greater role in the organization of department belongs a correspondence member of National Academy of Science the Republic of Kazakhstan to professor Beremzhanov B.A. (the dean of chemical faculty 1954-1980), who has invited to a post of the first Cand.Chem.Sci. B.A.Zhubanov be the head of department, nowadays hi is academician of National Academy of Science the Republic of Kazakhstan, honorary director of Institute of chemical sciences of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The creative life of B.A.Zhubanov since is connected with department of macromolecular chemistry. Active participation in creation of department was accepted by the known scientist in the field of polymers professor S.R. Rafikov. The big contribution to becoming department from the moment of its organization has brought E.M. Shaihutdinov (academician of National Academy of Science the Republic of Kazakhstan, rector Kazakh National Technical University named by K.I. Satpayeva per 1978-2000, nowadays the professor of department) which managed department per 1971-1978. The important role in the subsequent development of department has made E.E. Ergozhin (nowadays academician of National Academy of Science the Republic of Kazakhstan, director of Institute of chemical sciences of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan) - headed department per 1980-1989. From 1990 on 2005 the department headed professor Z.S. Nurkeeva, the graduate of department of macromolecular chemistry of the Moscow State University. From 2005 on present time the department headed by professor G.A. Mun.

The breadth of scientific interests and high erudition of everyone who stood at sources of department, have played the important role at formation of the basic methodical principles of preparation of experts in the field of macromolecular chemistry. On department the basic ideas have been realized into a life: students, специализирующие on faculty, should receive fundamental knowledge in various areas of physical-chemistry of macromolecules, namely, on synthesis of polymers, their structure and chemical updating, physical-mechanical properties, behaviors of macromolecules in a solution, etc.

The important contribution to becoming and development of department have brought Beremzhanov B.A., Zhubanov B.A., Rafikov S.R., Shaikhutdinov E.M., Ergozhin E.E., Nurkeeva Z.S., Karzhaubaeva R.G., Nurgozhaeva S.H., Shaiyahmetov S.S., Kurmanaliev O.S., Chugunova N.I., Kurmanaliev M.K., Legkunets R.E., Mun G.A., Abdykalykova R.A., Tausarova B.R., Khutoryanskiy V.V. and many others.
