History of department

The faculty of analytical chemistry was opened at the Kazakh State University named by S. M. Kirov in 1934. The organizer and first manager was Mikhail Ivanovich Saenko.

Department people

From 1939 years for 1971 years a department was managed by Mikhail Tikhonovich Kozlovskiy. Well known scientist, creating Kazakh school of electrochemists and analysts, entering in a world scientific elite as a leader of school of amalgam chemistry and metallurgy.

M.T. Kozlovskiy read one of the best lecture courses on analytical chemistry; at that time in Kazakhstan, bases of educational -methodical and research work with specific of preparation the future specialists.

Exactly at the direct participation of M.T. Kozlovskogiy the first generation of the teachers of department was trained (O.A. Songina, A.I. Zebreva, E.F. Speranskaya, R.Z. Vagapova, Z.B. Rojdestvenskaya, K.Zh. Sagadieva, A.M. Kucherbaeva, V.P. Gladyshev, V.A. Zakharov, V.E. Mercalova, R.N. Matakova, B.K. Toiybaev, L.M. Filippova, S.A. Levickaya). Up to the end of the life M.T. Kozlovskiy remained the scientific adviser of the department.

From 1971 years for 1993 a department was headed by student of M.T. Kozlovskiy, talented scientist and wise leader prof. Aleksandra Ivanovna Zebreva. Being a wonderful methodist, A.I. Zebreva gave many forces and attention for perfection methods of teaching analytical chemistry, to increase the pedagogical trade of teachers. The special attention was spared development of educational -methodical aids.

From May, 1993 for October, 1993 the department of analytical chemistry was managed by doctor of chemistry Science, prof. Tleuken Zeynikenovich Akhmetov.

During the period of 1993-2009 the department was supervised by Professor Mikhail Kasymovich Nauryzbayev, doctor of engineering sciences. His works are widely represented in scientific periodic publications, on international symposiums, congresses and conferences. Professor Nauryzbayev supervised 35 candidate and 4 doctoral dissertations. Scientific activity of M.K. Nauryzbayev received international evaluation. He is the member of American Chemical Society.

From 2009 the department is supervised and managed by professor Dujsek Hajsagalievich Kamysbayev, doctor of chemical sciences. He is known for the works in the field of chemistry of coordination compounds, physical chemistry and theory of solutions. He supervised 8 candidates of sciences. He is the member-correspondent of the academy of sciences of high school.

In 1959 on the base of department of analytical chemistry on initiative of academician NAN of RK M.T. Kozlovskiy and member - correspondent NAN of PK B.A. Beremzhanov were organized department of chemistry of rare elements.

From the day of organization for 1981 managed a department corresponding member NAN of PK, honoured worker of science of Kazakhstan, honoured member of All-union chemical society the name of D.I. Mendeleyev, doctor of chemical sciences, professor Olga Alfredovna Songina, large scientist, bringing in a large contribution to development of chemical science, educations and training of educational -methodical personnels in Kazakhstan. In 1981-1995 student of O.A Songina, doctor of chemical sciences, prof. Vladimir Andreevich Zakharov managed the department.

In 1995 the department of chemistry of rare elements was incorporated with the department of analytical chemistry in a single department with preparation of specialists on the proper two types.

On the department of analytical chemistry under the direction of M.T. Kozlovskiy was folded scientific direction «Chemistry of amalgams», which was after developed by his students of A.I. Zebreva, E.F. Speranskaya, V.P. Gladyshev. This direction plugs in itself research of kinetics of processes on mercury, amalgam and gallium electrodes and development of methods of division and concentration of elements, receipt of matters of high-purity and determination of micro containing metals.

Large role in development of theory and practice of amalgams and to the galls belongs also to the teachers and employees of problem laboratory of prof. R.N. Matakova to the associate professors and employees of K.Zh. Sagadieva, S.A. Levickaya, V.E. Mercalova, L.A.Karpova, E.S. Omarova, L.M. Ruban, I.A. Krasnova, N.I. Medvedeva, G.A. Tember, K.I. Geynrikhs.

The practical output of these works was the successful applying in industry, methods of analysis and amalgam technologies, selection and affinage of bismuth, indium, thallium, lead, antimony and other of metals.

Wide development on a department and in a problem laboratory got works under the direction of professor M.K. Nauryzbaev on study of influence of superficial - active substances of c3netic of electron processes on amalgam and hard electrodes, receipt of cover ages metals and alloys of the different setting ( doctor of chemical sciences, professor A.D. Akbasova, D.K. Mendalieva, A.P. Nilov, V.V. Mogilniy and candidates of sciences B. Demeev, M.M. Ibraev, V.P. Dzekunov, A.S. Khabiev). The results of the conducted researches are inculcated in the technological processes of affinage of copper on Balkhash and Dzhezkazgan mounting- metallurgy combines, electroextraction zinc on Ustkamenogorsk lead-zinc combine.

Scientific groups of prof. T.Z. Akhmetova and doc. B.D. Burkitbaeva is engaged in researches on creation of effective inhibitors of corrosion. Research in area of defence of different materials and equipment from corrosive influence of environment enable to save metals and alloys, prolong the term of service of vehicles and settings.

A large deposit is done the employees of department (doctor of chemical sciences S.E. Batyrbekova, candidate of chemical sciences M.Sh. Zhambulova, E.V. Zlobina, candidate of chemical sciences, Kh.S. Tasibekov, candidate of chemical sciences B.N. Kenesov and other) under the direction of prof. A.I. Zebreva and M.K. Nauryzbaev in area of ecology of Central Kazakhstan on chemical control of environment, subject to influence of space-rocket activity.

The necessity of development of new methods of division and concentration of metals resulted in creation of scientific group, by successfully getting busy extraction of the colored and rare metals. On a department executed work on creation of express methods of analysis of natural and industrial objects, containing rare and dissipated elements (prof. A.I. Zebreva, d.kh.n. N.N. Andreeva).

Last years the fresh stream of young teachers has joined last years on a department. Zlobina, N.D. Dolgova, S.A. Efremov, A.M. Kuvancheva, A.G. Ismailova, Kh.S. Tasibekov, L.K. Kudreeva, B.N. Kenesov, A.S. Tulegenov.

Five teachers and employees of department are councilors on defense of candidate's and doctoral dissertations on specialities 02.00.02 is analytical chemistry and 02.00.05 - electrochemistry. Presently in post-graduate and PhD 7 graduating students of department, a few teachers, are taught post-doctorate work above doctoral dissertations.

In 1994 on the base of row of departments of chemical faculty TREASURY Center of physical and chemical methods of research and analysis (CFHMA) is opened, where the accredited laboratories of analysis of oil function successfully, medicinal preparations, electrochemical, mass- spectrometer, optical and other of methods of analysis. The specialists of CFHMA execute the analyses of any level of complication of food products, objects of environment, and also certification tests of various products.

Students, specialized on the department of analytical chemistry, are in a position to work on an unique equipment which is equip the laboratories of CFHMA. A department has the equipped analytical base among Institutes of higher of Kazakhstan.

For the analysis of the modern state of prospects of development and co-ordination of analytical services of Kazakhstan on a base CFHMA KAZNU is organized five International conferences on analytical chemistry and ecological problems (1995, 1998, 2001, 2003, 2007).

Scientific directions of department

• fundamental researches of electrode processes in the multi component systems with participation of colored and rare metals,
• chemical sources of current,
• study processes of corrosion;
• it is the ecological monitoring of territories of Republic Kazakhstan, subject to influence of space-rocket activity;
• it is development of new methods of receipt of matters and materials from mineral and vegetable raw material of Kazakhstan;
• development of scientific bases of creation of new composition materials with the set properties;
• extraction and sorption methods of concentration, extraction and division of rare and noble metals;
• creation the system analytical control (certification) of products of different industries of industry, agriculture and objects of environment

Scientific achievements of department

Department conducts work on preparation of shots of higher qualification actively. In times of existence of department 15 doctoral dissertations are protected (A.I. Zebreva, E.F. Speranskaya, V.A. Zakharov, Kh.K. Ospanov, V.P. Gladyshev, E.A. Mambetkaziev, R.N. Matakova, M.K. Nauryzbaev, A.D. Akbasova, D.K. Mendalieva, T.Z. Akhmetov, N.N. Andreeva, A.M. Shaldybaeva, A.P. Nilov, S.S. Dosmagambetova, S.E. Batyrbekova) and more than 170 candidate's dissertations.

In different years were the winners of the All-union competition of the best student works and rewarded medals AN the USSR and KAZSSR students of department G.A. Tember, A.D. Akbasova, L. Dyagileva, E.V. Zlobina.

In 2005 M.K. Nauryzbaev, E.R. Ishkenov, V.A. Svetov was awarded the State bonus of RK in area of science, technique and education for work «Complex of scientific - technological and informational-analytical works works, providing going of Kazakhstan into the world market of hi-tech products - market of stable isotopes».

For years existence of department more than 2500 reasons are published, more than 200 copyright certificates are got on inventions and patents, more than 170 scientific developments are inculcated in a production and educational process.

Teachers of department are the authors of the model programs on the followings disciplines: «Analytical chemistry», «Philosophical problems in chemistry», «Examination quality of oil and petroleum», «Conceptions of modern natural science», «Chemistry».

Some of post-graduate students and competitors of department became the doctors of sciences and leaders in the field of science and formation of Republic: E.A. Mambetkaziev, A.A. Zharmenov, V.V. Malakhov, R.G. Sarmurzina, T.Z. Akhmetov, A.K. Tulebaev, V.V. Mogilniy, G.V. Makarov, V.N. Runtov, A.P. Nilov, M.M. Ibraev, and V.P. Dzekunov.

The distinctive feature of the real development of the department uses the modern chemic-analytical equipment which allows a collective at high enough level to carry out researches.

The graduating students of department are placed in a job in research laboratories, services of quality on enterprises, work in the laboratories of criminalistics and judge-medical examination, on food enterprises, in agriculture and pharmacology.

Today department of analytical chemistry and chemistry of rare elements - it is not only teachers high qualification with graduate degrees and large experience but also collective of like-minded persons, attentive and responsive people.
