KAZNU HOSTS FORUM OF FOREIGN STUDENTS "FARABI MADE US FRIENDS"

The first forum “Farabi Made Us Friends” was held at the O. Zholdasbekov Palace of Students, which was attended by foreign students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.              

Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev noted that the forum "Farabi Made Us Friends" will become a launching platform for friendly relations, new cultural ties and exchange of experience.

                                        

"I have specifically instructed to organize this event. I decided to get to know you better and wanted to hear your suggestions. We intend to tell all young people about the culture of each country and strengthen our friendship," the rector announced. 

                                       

                                                     

                                       

KazNU aims to increase the share of foreign students to 25% in 2026 and plans to expand the geography of foreign countries from 50 to 100 states. Today such educational programs as general medicine, information systems, international relations, management, biotechnology, Kazakh language, etc. are in high demand among foreign students. 37% of instructors teach in English, about 3 thousand students study in English groups. 

                                        

                                         

                                         

To date, there are more than 200 representatives of different nationalities working as part of the teaching staff of KazNU and more than 2,500 foreign students. In addition, KazNU closely cooperates with 500 foreign universities and is a member of various international organizations and associations. 

                                       

At the forum the following students from different faculties of KazNU represented their country, native language and culture: Laharwal Hashim Shawkat (Kashmir), Al-Yasin Bakr Rabah Mohammed Hassan (Iraq), Khan Sarah Abdul Haq (India), Yavuz Dilara (Turkey), Tan Menien (China), Fagani Sara (Iran), Mahmoud Sadiq Abubukar (Nigeria) and many others. The students demonstrated dance and musical performances in Arabic, Jordanian, Turkish, Persian. 

                                       

To sum up, 50 foreign students were awarded special diplomas for excellent academic performance.
