The Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted an international scientific and practical conference "Problems of Ensuring Environmental Law in the Environmental Safety System" dedicated to the 95^th anniversary of the birth of the Honored Lawyer of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sagyndyk Baisalov.

The event was attended by representatives of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Constitutional Court of the RK, the Supreme Court of the RK, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, the specialized environmental Prosecutor's Office of Almaty, famous local lawyers and foreign scientists, professors from Russia, Estonia, Poland, Uzbekistan and students.

At the opening of the meeting, the welcoming speech of the Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev was read out. "The issues that were raised by Sagyndyk Baysalov a quarter of a century ago concerning the environmental situation in our country and the problems of water resources have not lost their relevance today. Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev supports the ideas of the "green economy", paying special attention to environmental protection. It is obvious that the creators of new bills will rely on the norms of the law laid down by Sagyndyk Baysalovich," the letter says.

Board member – Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of KazNU Lyazzat Yerkinbayeva attached great importance to the study of the scientist's heritage. Noting the great contribution of the figure to the development of the university, the education of professional lawyers, he participated in the preparation of the Land and Water Code of Kazakhstan, bills related to nature protection.

The well-known lawyer, adviser to the rector of KazNU Yerkin Duissenov recalled the moral qualities and civic appearance of Sagyndyk Baysalov. The noble qualities of an ambitious, hardworking, honest and just soul serve as an example for future generations. Director of the Research Institute of Private Law of the Caspian University, Academician Maidan Suleimenov, Rector of the D.A. Kunaev Eurasian Law Academy, Professor Umirali Zhalairi also presented their views.

In particular, topical issues of the implementation of the national project "Zhasyl Kazakhstan", improvement of the ecological situation, effective and careful use of water, increasing the number of rare and endangered species of animals, conservation of biological diversity by increasing the area of green spaces, careful attitude to nature and wildlife were considered.

As part of the "Baysalov Readings", students were awarded sponsored scholarships. The work of the conference continued at the plenary session.
