During the meeting the President was presented with the results of academic, research and innovation activities, new directions and prospects for the development of the university.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed that currently more than 24 thousand students are studying at the KazNU, including 2.8 thousand foreign citizens from 54 countries of the world. 542 educational programs are being implemented, the number of research centers and projects has been increased. In 2022, more than 30 contracts were signed with leading universities in the USA, Great Britain, Japan, France, the UAE, and Turkey. Branches of the university operate in Istanbul and Bishkek. A branch of MEPhI (Moscow) has been opened in Almaty on the basis of the University.

Zhanseit Tuimebayev stated that the salary of the academic staff was increased in 2022. In addition, the repair of academic buildings, laboratories and dormitories has been carried out. By a court decision, two land plots were returned to the property of the KazNU.

The President of Kazakhstan pointed out the importance of further development of the university and focused on the need to strengthen the international status of the university, strengthen research activities.
