RECTOR OF KAZNU TOOK PART IN THE VII FORUM OF UNIVERSITIES OF KAZAKHSTAN AND FRANCE

Chairman of the Board-Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took part in the VII Forum of Universities of Kazakhstan and France in Paris. Within the framework of the event an exhibition of Kazakh and French universities was held.


​The forum was attended by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek, representative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of France Manuel Bouard, Rector of KazNU named after Al-Farabi Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Vice President of Loraine University Karl Tombre, Executive Director of the International Institute of Nuclear Energy Karen Daifuku and many other heads of universities and institutes of Kazakhstan and France.

 

The Rector of KazNU highlighted the fact that the dialogue within the framework of the forum was a valuable contribution to economic stability and the quality of life of future generations of all countries.

 

"Each country has its own experience and unique potential. Therefore, it is very important to share best practices, expand cooperation with foreign scientific organizations and universities. I am sure that today's forum will become a great dialogue platform for universities of Kazakhstan and France to exchange experience," stated Rector of Al–Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuymebayev.

 

During the forum the signing ceremony of agreements between universities of the two countries took place. The Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has signed memorandum of understanding with the Sciences Po and the University of Lorraine. In addition, Zhanseit Tuimebayev signed an inter-institutional agreement on the exchange of students and teaching staff within the framework of the Erasmus+ program with the University of Reims Champagne-Ardennes.

 

In this regard, it should be noted that from 2018-2022 Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has been visited by 14 professors from French universities, 48 students and 23 doctoral students have been trained. The Kazakh-French Scientific and Educational Center "Geo-Energetics" was established on the basis of the university. The Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics implements dual degree programs with French universities: "Mechanics and Energy" with the University of Lorraine (more than 100 undergraduates and 20 doctoral students have been trained) and "Mathematics" with the University of Reims Champagne-Ardennes.

 

In addition, the Rector of the University Zhanseit Tuimebayev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the French Republic, the representative of Kazakhstan to UNESCO Gulsara Arystankulova and discussed issues of strengthening and developing cooperation between KazNU and UNESCO.
