The III International conference "Creative heritage and teaching of Abai Kunanbayev" dedicated to the Day of Abai was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. It was attended by literary critics, scientists of research institutes, doctoral students, undergraduates and media representatives. The scientific event was dedicated to the modern view of the creative heritage and teaching of the great poet of our nation Abai Kunanbayev.

Opening the meeting, Board member – Vice–Rector for Scientific and Innovative Activities of KazNU Haidar Tasibekov noted the importance of studying and promoting the heritage of the great poet. "The teaching of Abai should be embedded in the minds of the younger generation and become a guiding principle of the modern upbringing. Only then we will be able to educate a spiritual individual with rich inner content, which the humanist  Abai dreamed of. Our common duty is to promote valuable heritage of such brilliant figures," the vice–rector noted.

The director of the Abai Research Institute, Professor Zhangara Dadebayev made a report on the scientific principle "Taxonomy of Abai" within the framework of the scientific project "Scientific foundations and theoretical mechanisms of cognition, understanding and application of Abai's teachings". In addition, Professor Kanseit Abdezuly drew attention to the relevance of scientific understanding of the tradition in Kazakh literature.

During the event, the project "Anthology of Abai Studies" prepared by the Abai Institute together with the Al-Farabi Library was presented. Electronic exhibitions "The life and work of Abai Kunanbayev", "Selected Wise Words of Abai", "Songs of Abai" were presented on the website of the Abai Research Institute. As one of the results of the scientific project of the Abai Research Institute the "Abai Personality Code" was presented, in which its content and meaning were widely covered.

Professor of Baku Slavic University Nizami Mammadov also took part in the large-scale event.  Yertay Sultan, coordinator of the Abai Center for Kazakh Culture at the University of Washington, joined online and shared his opinion about Abai's personality, his biography and the features of his creative heritage. Moderator of the conference was the researcher of the Abai Research Institute Layla Musaly and other literary scholars told about the achievements of the Abai Research Institute.
