Today the Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU Zhanseit Tuymebayev took part in the meeting of the heads of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, dedicated to the issues of combating corruption.

At the meeting, organized by the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Combating Corruption, the Commission of the Public Council of the APS of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the formation of an anti-corruption culture and the project office "Almaty - adaldyk alagy", the participants discussed the draft concept of anti-corruption policy for 2022-2026.

Opening the meeting, the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Akhmetzhanov noted the importance of anti-corruption measures for the development and security of the state. According to the speaker, active participation of representatives of the public and preventive measures are the main tools in the fight against corruption. Having voiced the official data registered in the field of education, Marat Akhmetzhanov drew attention to the need for effective mechanisms that can eradicate this social evil.

He also drew attention to the fact that, as part of the President's instruction, the subject “Anti-corruption culture” was included in the list of disciplines of many universities and invited the rectors to improve the anti-corruption education of students.

At the same time, on the basis of Al-Farabi KazNU, the Research Institute "Anti-Corruption Technologies" functions, aimed at the formation of anti-corruption consciousness and culture. Large-scale events were held within the framework of the Republican project office of Sanaly Urpaq in cooperation with the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In particular, guidelines have been developed for the formation of an anti-corruption culture for each target group in the field of education to teach the principles of integrity and honesty. Methodological recommendations for conducting an internal analysis of corruption risks have been introduced.

In addition, the Anti-Corruption Standard of the educational institution, the Code of Academic Integrity, and the Regulation on the University's Compliance Service were approved. A draft Regulation on the anti-corruption commission of the university has been prepared. Al-Farabi KazNU was one of the first to open schools of morality "Adaldyk Mekeni" and "Parasat". This year, for the first time, the university initiated a "school of anti-corruption compliance for students in cooperation with the republican project office Sanaly Urpaq."

It should be added that not so long ago the head of the Al-Farabi KazNU Zhanseit Tuymebayev, within the framework of the Sanaly Urpaq project, signed a comprehensive anti-corruption plan for the 2021-2022 academic year.
