APPROVED ROADMAP FOR THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF INDEPENDENCE

At the next administration of Al-Farabi KazNU, they discussed the progress in the implementation of the university's roadmap to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as a number of important issues, including the implementation of indicative indicators for the current academic year and preparation for the competition of teaching staff and researchers for vacant positions.

Acting Vice-Rector for Social Development of KazNU Aliya Masalimova in her presentation acquainted the members of the administration with the plans of events dedicated to the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, reflected in the roadmap "Otyz zhyldyga otyz aptalyk". One of the first and major events planned for May is the scientific and business conference "Historical values ​​of Independence" with the participation of the State Secretary KE Kusherbayev, scientists from Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Russia. The International Conference "Creativity of Olzhas Suleimenov and the Problems of National Consciousness", timed to coincide with the 85th anniversary of the prominent Kazakh poet and public figure, will be no less large-scale. During the international event, an auditorium named after O. Suleimenov will be opened at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management within the framework of the project "Named Audiences - School of Honor".

From May to October, open lectures are planned in the online format on the topic "Sovereign Kazakhstan in the framework of world diplomacy", where the main lecturers will be the ambassadors and heads of the representations of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Another major event is aimed at creating partnerships between the universities of the Turkic-speaking countries and holding the “Summit on the role of universities in the Turkic world”. The result of these meetings is the creation of the Association of Universities of the Turkic World.

Another significant event touches upon the topic "Modern Kazakhstan and the Great Silk Road: geopolitics, culture and education", within which a virtual summer school will be held with the participation of members of the Silk Road University Alliance in August 2021. International conferences, seminars, online lectures, round tables, book exhibitions are also planned, and as a result of 30 events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Independence, books and collections, videos, documentaries, etc. will be released.

As noted, the roadmap "Otyz zhyldyga otyz aptalyk" will contribute to the comprehensive work to popularize the historical, spiritual, moral and cultural heritage of Kazakhstan, as well as create a positive image of the university.

At the meeting, a presentation on the implementation of indicative indicators for the 2020-2021 academic year was made by the Director of the Center for Strategic Development Gulsharat Minazheva. The emphasis in the report was made on the implementation of indicative indicators that affect the results of many ratings in various parameters. The speaker announced the strategic objectives of the KazNU named after al-Farabi and ways to improve positions in the ranking of QS WUR, ARES, etc. It is necessary to actively advance in the THE WUR ranking and improve positions in THE IR, Rank Pro, etc. Also G. Minajeva acquainted the members of the administration with the directions of the indicative plan for 2020 -2021 academic year.

The chairman of the board-rector of KazNU named after al-Farabi Zhanseit Tuimebayev, in turn, noted that indicative indicators are not only in universities, but also in the Government and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. All indicators of the university are reflected in the monitoring and the level of a particular university is assessed by them. They motivate the teacher to achieve better results, which contributes to higher salaries. In this regard, the rector gave instructions on the correlation of the indicative plan, the number of rating points, collaboration with leading foreign universities in double-degree education.

During the meeting, an emphasis was placed on the need to intensify work by inviting the best teachers and professors to KazNU and to strengthen the research activities of the university.

In conclusion, the information of the head of human resources and archive management Ainur Madiyar was heard, who acquainted the participants with the preparation for the competition of teaching staff and scientists for vacant positions in the 2021-2022 academic year.
