The meeting of the Rector Galym Mutanov with the Chairman of «Kazselezaschita» K. Kokrekbayev took place in Al-Farabi KazNU. During the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of research work and natural and technological risks in emergency situations was signed.

In his speech, Rector of KazNU G.Mutanov emphasized the importance of creating a common universal concept based on scientific approach in order to minimize risks in any emergency situations. In addition, the Rector spoke about the capabilities of the Remote Sensing Center of KazNU, the activities of which are aimed at obtaining, processing and dissemination of remote sensing data, creating on their basis geoproducts for various sectors of the national economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In turn, the Chairman of the State Institution «Kazselezaschita» K.N. Kokrekbayev spoke about further prospects for cooperation between the two organizations and emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation in science and innovation. «There are 945 moraine lakes in Kazakhstan, 47 of them are mudflow dangerous, only in Almaty there are 14 dangerous moraine lakes. In addition, there are a number of avalanche and landslide zones and plateaus in Kazakhstan, which also require constant monitoring», K. Kokrekbayev noted.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to strengthen partnership in the field of creation of an automated system for monitoring of moraine lakes, a geoportal, as well as mobile hybrid power plants of container type and signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
