Students of the Faculty of Journalism of Al-Farabi KazNU are participating in the XI student subject Olympiad in the specialty «Journalism», which is taking place in S. Toraigyrov Pavlodar State University.

The purpose of the event is to help increase the prestige of the journalistic profession, identify talented young people and motivate them to improve their professional skills and self-education, as well as develop their ability to analyze social processes and give a qualified assessment of current events.

The main criteria for evaluating the contestants is the ability to present their team, write essays and informational articles, as well as the results of a specialized test. An important feature of this year's Olympiad is to make a video plot on the theme «My Impression of Pavlodar» in the third round of the qualifying competition. Each team consists of three students from each represented University. This year 50 students-journalists from 17 Universities of the country are taking part in the Olympiad.

From the first days of the event, the contestants have demonstrated a high level of their professional training. The Olympiad will end with a solemn ceremony of awarding the winners and presenting certificates and memorable gifts to participants.
