This year the Republic of Kazakhstan celebrates the 30th anniversary of independence. The jubilee is always a time for summing up the results and defining the tasks and main directions of the country's further development.

Within the framework of the 30th anniversary of the country's independence, the Republican round table "Elin suigen, elі suigen Elbasy" was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with the participation of graduates of the international program "Bolashak".

The Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted an online seminar "Preventing Corruption: Solutions".

The trade union "Parasat" of workers of Al-Farabi KazNU, with the support of the administration of the university, issued schoolbags and school supplies to children going to the first grade. This action has become a good tradition and has been held for the fifth year already.

In the Palace of Students of KazNU named after Al-Farabi, a vaccination point against Covid-19 was opened for students and teachers of the university, as well as residents of Almaty.

The delegation of KazNU named after Al-Farabi, headed by the Chairman of the Board-Rector Zh.K. Tuimebayev paid a working visit to the Kyrgyz Republic.

A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagun (KNU). The agreement was signed during a meeting between the Chairman of the Board-Rector Zhanseit Tuimebayev and the rector of the KNU named after Zh.Balasagun Kanat Sadykov in Bishkek (Republic of Kyrgyzstan).

In 1962, US President John F. Kennedy said, "Forget about oil, think about water." Indeed, the Aral Sea crisis began in the 1960s. We have left half a century behind, but the issue has not lost its relevance. Once again, we have a "headache" in Balkhash. Because the fate of the Aral Sea may be repeated in Balkhash. This is a warning from international experts, not ours.

 2nd year undergraduate student of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Alina Andirova at the republican conference organized by the National Innovation Research Center "Bilim-orkenieti", received the degree "Public activist" and became "The best graduate of the year."

On the eve of the celebration of the Day of Mass Media Workers in Almaty, a competition among journalists was held, timed to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The organizer of the competition was the Akimat of Almaty.
