The global pandemic has made some adjustments to our way of life. This has created a need for videoconferencing services for all sectors of the economy. According to statistics, daily videoconferencing traffic in 2020 has grown by 535 percent. Nowadays, videoconferencing has become not just a novelty in the field of IT, but an important business tool. In this regard, KazNU IT specialists developed Jinalys Room web application based on Al-Farabi open-source data.

Today, the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is implementing several projects that stand out among the world's innovative technologies. When you see the activity and enthusiasm of young scientists working on these projects, you need a glass, you feel warm. You believe in the future of Kazakhstan's science. Sometimes you think that if such research was conducted abroad, investors who noticed its value, efficiency and benefits would invest in it and try to commercialize it in the market.

The Academic Council discussed the results of research and innovation activities of KazNU over the past year, as well as the implementation of measures to ensure the intellectual, spiritual, moral and physical development of university students.

The international competition for press services and journalists of universities and scientific institutions of the Greater Altai and Central Asia "Media-Nauruz" started at the Altai State University (Russia, Barnaul). The jury included representatives of Al-Farabi KazNU.

At the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi, the President of the International Turkic Academy, Chairman of the Board of JSC “Republican newspaper “Egemen Qazaqstan”, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Darkhan Kydyrali delivered a leadership lecture. During the meeting, he shared his knowledge and experience in the field of journalism.

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is a classical multidisciplinary university that combines education, science, and innovation. Today the university is a leader in the number of scientific projects and scientific publications in our country. Every fifth Kazakhstani publication in the rated editions is prepared in KazNU. Five scientific journals are included in international databases. 

A cooperation agreement was signed between the Secretariat of the Council of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of States - Members of the Commonwealth of Independent States and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

Scientists of KazNU named after Al-Farabi have developed a unique technology for increasing the intensity of the glow of gas-discharge lamps based on nanotechnology, which has a low cost and high quality. Moreover, the intensity of the glow of the developed lamp is one and a half times greater than that of similar fluorescent lamps with equal power consumption, which was confirmed during laboratory tests.

Al-Farabi International Olympiad will be held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University among 11th grade students of secondary general educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the CIS countries, as well as neighboring and far abroad countries.

In his Address to the people of Kazakhstan on September 1, 2021, the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev called the most important task - the full disclosure of the country's industrial potential.
