Our country is on the verge of great achievements. A national referendum on making amendments and additions to the Basic Law of the country will be held on June 5. The initiative on introduction of amendments to the Basic Law of Kazakhstan proposed by the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev carries in itself new scale transformations directed on improvement of the political-legal sphere and all aspects of the life of Kazakhstanis.

A delegation of representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus visited the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. During the visit, the guests of honor presented a plan of construction in the territory of Kazakh National University. Also, the delegation met with the faculty and got acquainted with innovative projects of scientists of the university.

By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, a number of scientists were awarded state awards for their great contribution to the social and economic development of the country and outstanding scientific work. Among them are scientists of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

An agreement was signed on the establishment of a branch of MEPhI on the basis of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, which defined the main areas of cooperation within the framework of an international project.

An international forum dedicated to the study and promotion of the rich heritage of thinkers of the Turkic world - Al-Farabi and Mohammed Iqbal - has started at the Al-Farabi Scientific Library.
