The plans of the Parasat trade union of employees of Al-Farabi KazNU have always included a variety of activities for employees and their children. However, due to the coronavirus epidemic, many events had to be transferred to a remote format, postponed or even cancelled.

The Centre for Sociological Research and Social Engineering of KazNU has conducted surveys to identify public opinion on the effectiveness of the«Corruption-free University» project and topical issues of distance learning, as well as to assess the social attitudes of students and teachers in the context of the pandemic.
Al-Farabi KazNU has hosted an international scientific-methodical online seminar «The context of culture, language and literature devoted to the philosophy of Al-Farabi» dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of the great scholar. The event was organized by the Department of General Linguistics and European Languages within the XXIII «Akhanov Readings». The seminar was attended by specialists from Almaty, Taraz, London and Istanbul.
On May 30, 2020 at 12.00 in the Higher School of Economics and Business of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the annual traditional Meeting of the Alumni Association Council was held in online format, dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of Abu Nasr al-Farabi. Graduates of the Higher School of Economics and Business of different years, now representatives of government agencies, the scientific community, the business community, partner universities from Kazakhstan, near and far abroad, teachers and students of the Higher School of Economics, took an active part in the Alumni Day on the Zoom platform.
On May 30, 2020, the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of Al-Farabi KazNU celebrated its professional holiday – the Chemist’s Day for the 59th time. Traditionally, this day brings together graduates of the Faculty, as a rule, the «graduates of the anniversary years», i.e. those who have completed their studies 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 and 70 years ago. This holiday has always been filled with warmth, since graduates remember their serene student years, their friends, and favorite teachers. It is no accident that this tradition has attracted other Faculties of our University, and since 2011, on the initiative of Rector Galym Mutanov, the entire University has started to celebrate the Alumni Day on the last Saturday of May.
This year the Alumni Day of the Faculty of International Relations of Al-Farabi KazNU has been celebrated on a large scale, and in a meaningful and interesting way. Due to the coronavirus pandemic and quarantine, the holiday was held in online format. New technologies and great desire helped graduates of different generations to meet, remember the best student years, share their achievements and congratulate their alma mater.

According to a longstanding good tradition, an Alumni Day of Al Farabi KazNU was held on the last Saturday of May. This year it was dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of Abu Nasr Al-Farabi and was held in an unusual online format.
