Memo for foreign students admitted to Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

List of required documents for admission:

1. Original documents

- diploma or certificate (with apostille)

- transcript

(If the student has just completed high school, their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher School Certificate (HSC) and their mark sheets will be needed. If the student has already completed their bachelor's or master's degree, the student will be required to provide the school certificate and mark sheets sheets.)

- Nostrification or certificate of submission of documents for Nostrification

2. Notarized translations of documents

- diploma or certificate - 2 copies of notarized translation into Russian / Kazakh languages

- transcript - 2 copies of notarized translation into Russian / Kazakh languages - passport - 2 copies of notarized translation into Russian / Kazakh languages

(Important: all documents must be translated and notarized in Kazakhstan!)

3. Passport size photographs. (3x4)

The student must provide (2) photographs.

Present a color photo taken within the last 6 months. Use a plain white or off-white background.

4. Medical certificates

- Medical certificate form No. 075-U;

- a copy of the preventive vaccination card;

- AIDS (Almaty, Basenova str. 2)

(Important: all medical certificates must be issued in Kazakhstan!) (Available from the Diagnostic Center of the Keremet University COS http://smarthealth.kz/).

Obtaining a C-9 student visa: All international students, except citizens of CIS countries, must obtain a C-9 student visa. After receiving it, you are required to arrive in Kazakhstan to begin your studies.

 

Invitation – visa support

If you successfully pass the entrance exams and receive an order to enroll as a student, you will need to issue an invitation to KazNU to enter the Republic of Kazakhstan on a study visa.

Upon receipt of an invitation to enter the Republic of Kazakhstan, the university will send it to you. It takes at least 10 working days to issue an invitation after signing the enrollment order, so these documents must be submitted to the university as early as possible.

What documents are needed to receive a one-year study visa invitation:

1. Availability of an order for admission to the university

2. Payment in the amount of 100% of the total tuition amount to the university account.

3. Pay about 2500 tenge (0.5 MCI) ≈6 dollars visa fee

5. Copy of passport

6. If necessary, specialists can request additional documents (a notarized copy of the resident card in the host country, when changing permanent residence, etc.)

Other forms of visa received before enrollment cannot be changed to a study visa on the territory of Kazakhstan

The contract for studying at KazNU is drawn up at the Office of Internationalization and Recruitment after successfully passing the entrance exams and passing the competition.

Notification to the Migration Service: Foreign citizens must, within 2 (two) days from the date of crossing the border of the Republic of Kazakhstan, notify of their arrival at the Office of Internationalization and Recruitment (CPS Keremet, ground floor, room 07).

Have copies of your passport, visa/TRP and border crossing stamp with you. If necessary, written confirmation of the residence address in the Republic of Kazakhstan (consent of the property owner/lease agreement/certificate from the hostel/order from the hostel).

Fingerprint and genomic registration: According to the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 31, 2018 No. 36, from January 1, 2024, all foreign students are required to undergo fingerprint and genomic registration in the migration service department of the police department (compulsory medical insurance address of the UP Bostandyk district: Mynbaeva St., 53 corner of Klochkova street), or the government for citizens of the Bostandyk region.

After undergoing the fingerprinting procedure:

1. An appropriate certificate is issued

2. when applying for visa extension services, temporary residence permits, provide this certificate to the employees of the university visa center.

 

Temporary residence permit (TRP)

List of documents required for temporary registration for citizens of the CIS (Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Armenia):

1. Original passport

2. Copy of passport

3. Notarized consent of the owner of the property (if a foreign citizen lives in the apartment) or a warrant for a dormitory (if he lives in a dormitory)

4. RKA code of the address (If a foreign citizen lives in an apartment, he receives an RKA code from the owner of the property)

5. Student details (address, phone number, faculty, course, order for transfer to the next year of study)

6. If necessary, additional documents may be requested (notarized copy of passport with translation
