Mukagali Makatayev (1931-1976), an outstanding Kazakh poet, whose poetic attitude to the world is based on striving for the truth of being, for merging and harmony with nature, where word and being come together and broadcast about the innermost sources of Kazakh spiritual culture.
The literary translation into Russian of the selected poetic works of M. Makatayev, included in this collection, was carried out by the Kazakh poet-translator Zhanat Baimukhametov, known for his translations of Western European poetry. Trying to express in Russian almost the same thing that was said in the original language, with his translations of Makatayev's poetic works, he presented an opportunity for the Russian-speaking reader to feel the third rhyme of Kazakh verse, the charming charm and depth of Makatayev's poetry.
