«NEW ENVIRONMENTAL CODE OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN: CHALLENGES AND PROSPECTS» SEMINAR

On February 18, Non-profit Joint-stock Company «Al-Farabi Kazakh National University», UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Development of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental sciences was held the seminar «New Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan: challenges and prospects» within the framework of the national project «Green Bridge through Generations». With a welcoming speech, the seminar was opened by the Head of the UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Development Bazarbayeva T.A.; Candidate of Biological Sciences, Acting Professor Tazhibaeva T.L. acted as a moderator of the seminar.

The following Master Students of the department were the participants of the seminar:

- Yerdvalieva A. "Review of the new Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan" (in russian language);

- Kazybekkyzy P., Zhasylygova A. “Analysis of the Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan” (in kazakh language);

- Dikova L. "Environmental Code: Prospects for Development in the Field of Radioactive Waste Management" (in russian language).

Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Acting Professor Pavlichenko L.M. summed up the Seminar and focused on the main changes in the Environmental code.

In general, the seminar served as a dialogue platform for discussing the tasks and prospects of the new environmental code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and was very informative for young scientists and specialists in the field of environmental protection.
