The championship on robotics among pupils and students took place in KazNU. The qualifying republican championship on robotics  KazRoboSport 2018  passed in the al-Farabi scientific library. It was organized by the Department of Mechanics together with the Kazakhstan Federation of educational and sports robotics "KazRobotics". Within the framework of the championship, a qualifying round of the republican contest of creative projects  KazRoboProject 2018 and master classes from young talented specialists in the field of robotics and programming were held. More than 200 of pupils and students took part in the championship. At the opening ceremony, the Director of the Department of Science and Innovation of KazNU Serik Mukhambetzhanov, the Dean of the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty Dauren Zhakebayev, the Head of the Department of Mechanics Zaure Rakisheva, the President of the "KazRobotics" Federation Aizhan Zhekeeva and the Director of the Scientific and Methodological Center for New Technologies in Education for Almaty Andrey Dupik made welcome speeches. Members of the jury, which became professors of the Department of Mechanics Muratulla Utenov, Yuri Drakunov, Erbol Temirbekov, Abylai Yeraliyev, academician of NAS RK Zhumadil Baigunchekov, evaluated unique engineering projects in the field of robotics and new technologies. Teachers of schools and universities, robotics trainers took part in master classes of young talented specialists in the field of IT engineering and robotics, such as Maulen Bekturganov (founder of MBionics), Ruslan Rakhimbayev (founder of iBECsystems), Askar Kurymbayev (founder of AK CENT Microsystems), and received training certificates from KazNU.
