According to legend, St. Valentine secretly married couples in love and was executed for it. The established tradition of celebrating Valentine's day as Valentine's day has been influenced by English and French literature since the end of the XIV century. The symbol of the holiday was a postcard-Valentine in the form of a scarlet heart
