In the framework of the events approved by Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, faculty of International Relations of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University on March 26^th, 2020 at 10.00 am holds the annual Republican Student subject Olympiad on “Regional Studies” specialty. The theme of the Olympiad is "Sustainable Development: New Challenges". In 2015, under the auspices of the UN, the document "Sustainable Development Agenda" was prepared, which contains the stainable development goals for the period from 2015 to 2030 (more than 170 aims in various areas, combined in 17 goals-from overcoming poverty and eliminating hunger to ensuring gender equality and taking urgent measures to combat climate change).

The purpose of the Olympiad is disclosure of creative abilities, selection and support of the most talented and gifted students; promoting the formation of the intellectual potential of students; attracting students and young scientists to solve scientific problems of our time; awareness and solution of problems and challenges of sustainable development; development of interest in scientific and practical activities.

Location: Almaty, 95, Karasai Batyr st. (Baitursynov corner), Faculty of International Relations.

Working languages of the Olympiad: Kazakh, Russian, English.

Applications for participation in the Olympiad must be submitted before March 20, 2020. An informational letter with the program of the Olympiad was sent to universities earlier.

Materials should be sent by March 26, 2020 at 15.00
