Within the framework of the project of the Russian Science Foundation “Central Asia in the international relations in 18-19 centuries”, the international seminar “Central Asia at the crossroad of European and Asian political interests: 18-19 centuries” will be held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in 20-22 August, 2019.

The purpose of the event is to discuss the possibility of a comprehensive study of international relations across Central Asia at a significant chronological period, when tectonic geopolitical changes took place in the region. The dynamic of international relations in Central Asia will be considered as a single region, will be made an attempt to assess the role of individual European and Asian subjects (Turkey, Iran, Bukhara, Khiva, Kokand, Kazakh zhuzes, etc.) of international relations in the development of the foreign policy situation in Central Asia.

Scientists from Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Poland, and the United States will take part in the seminar.
