Scientific centers and laboratories of the Department of printed, electronic media and online journalism of Journalism Faculty Al-Farabi KazNU

Teleradiocomplex named after M.K. Barmankulov, photo lab, training auditorium of JSC “Khabar”, educational-creative laboratories of JSC “Egemen Kazakhstan” and the RTRK Kazakhstan are actively functioning at Al-Farabi KazNU on the basis of the Journalism Faculty. Which provides the best innovative modern educational methods in teaching, conducting master classes, trainings, in solving individual and team independent tasks. Additionally, students of the English group are trained on the MPLUS & COMPASS program "KONICA MINOLTA". Every year on May 19, on the day of the founding of the laboratory, a graduates' ceremony is held, where the best students are given the opportunity to pass an internship at KONICA MINOLTA, Langenhagen, Germany. Involvement of students in the various activities is facilitated by the clubs of the faculty of journalism under the direction of the Academic staff of the Department: "Sana" - training of the TV journalist skills, "Konica Minolta" - modern technologies of new media, Scientific Center of Journalism – revealing a potential of future young scientists, "Eidos" - the club which develops creative abilities of students. Furthermore, the educational newspaper "Journalist" is published, where students publish their works: information-analytical materials, artistic and journalistic works. In the ratings of the IQAA, the educational program of the bachelor degree took 1st place in 2015, the II place in 2016. In the rating of the IAAR in 2015 - II place, in 2016 - I place.

Technically equipped laboratories allow to interact with scientists, practicing journalists and editors on the basis of seminars and trainings for the development of constructive links with scientists and practitioners whose high professionalism and deep commitment to the policy of individual mentoring helps graduate students at the beginning of their careers.

Educational programs of doctoral studies are realized in partnership with leading educational and scientific centers abroad, implementing accredited doctoral programs, scientific schools. The training is conducted by doctors and Ph.D., foreign scientists with degrees Ph.D are also involved. Academic staff possess modern interactive methods and technologies of teaching, use them in the educational process. Teaching-methodical and information support of the educational process guarantees the possibility of qualitative mastering of the educational program of doctoral studies. The implementation of the educational program is provided by free access to international information networks, electronic databases, library collections, computer technologies, educational methodological and scientific literature. After the graduation, students have fundamental scientific and professional training, master modern information technologies, including methods of obtaining, processing and storing scientific information; they are able to formulate and solve modern scientific and practical problems, organize and conduct research and experimental research in the chosen direction, successfully carry out research and management activities.
