Regulations of university transfer and restoration of students
University transfer:
1) A student can be transferred only from state certified university and only during vacation time;
2) Transfer can be conducted only be permission of rectors of both universities;
3) A student can be transferred to an appropriate course in case when the difference in study curriculum does not exceed 5 courses (with 2 or 3 required courses); otherwise a student transfers to a lower course;
4) Students with educational grants can only be transferred to the same major or specialty;
5) In case of changing university course or transferring from one major to another (even within the schools of KazNU), a student with the educational grant looses his scholarship;
6) Students with high GPA or “excellent” marks can get governmental scholarship in case of presented vacancies on a competitive basis according to the order of Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan;
7) In case of academic curriculum failure students with governmental scholarships lose their grants, and must retake the same course next year;
8) In case of transferring to KazNU from another university, a student must provide following documents:
- transfer statement addressed to the rector of KazNU (with the agreement of faculty dean);
- statement addressed to the rector of university, from which a student wishes to transfer;
- copy of the license of the university, from which a student wishes to transfer;
- a verified copy of student’s record book;
- a document certifying that student studies in the university, from which he wishes to transfer;
9) A faculty dean after receiving student’s transfer application within one week must:
- define difference in academic curriculum and provide this information in the student’s application;
- define new course of the student;
- recommend student for transfer or deny his application (by providing reasons for deny);
Restoration of Students
1) A student can be restored in KazNU only by the rector’s order during vacation time. Completing at least on academic period is a required tool for a student to be restored;
2) A student cannot be restored on the scholarship basis;
3) One of the student’s successful restoration condition is completing required exams or interview;
4) A student can be restored to an appropriate course in case when the difference in study curriculum does not exceed 5 courses (with 2 or 3 required courses); otherwise a student goes to a lower course;
5) To be restored in KazNU, a student must provide following documents:
- restoration statement addressed to the rector of KazNU (with the agreement of faculty dean);
- original certificate or legal copy of student’s record book;
- two copies of KazNU contract about onerous provision of educational services (with the agreement of dean);
6) A faculty dean after receiving student’s transfer application within one week must:
- define difference in academic curriculum and provide this information in the student’s application;
- define new course of the student;
- recommend student for restoration or deny his application (by providing reasons for deny);
