Cooperation of al-Farabi Kazakh National University and National Cadet Corps of India

The Republic of Kazakhstan, as a sovereign state, builds its policy of mutual respect with all countries of the world. This policy applies to such an important sphere as a defense capability and security. Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan established close military cooperation with many countries, including such major state as the Republic of India.

Within the framework of cooperation and international collaboration in early 2015 the military department of al-Farabi Kazakh National University visited the Defense Attaché of the Republic of India Embassy in Kazakhstan Colonel L.Lidder.

In June 2015, during the second visit of the Indian delegation to al-Farabi Kazakh National University was signed Memorandum on cooperation in the field of education and science between the al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the National Cadet Corps of India. Memorandum provides interchange of students and cadets of KazNU named after al-Farabi and the National Cadet Corps.

The first visit of the students of al-Farabi Kazakh National University to the National Cadet Corps of India took place from 21 November to 4 December 2015.

Students of the military department of al-Farabi Kazakh National University Taldybayev Zhanadil and Otarbayev Baysultan visited National Cadet Corps of India, where they got acquainted with the life of cadets, met with the leadership of the NCC staff, took part in a desert camel safari and received certificates of safari participants.

In January 2016 the next visit of a delegation of twelve students and two officers from the military departments of universities of Kazakhstan was held in honor of the Republic Day of India in New Delhi. Among the candidates were thoroughly selected such students of the military department of al-Farabi KazNU as Kambarov R.U., Kenzhegulov U.B., Moldabekov A.K., Omirzak N.B., headed by the supervising teacher by specialty Lieutenant Colonel B.B. Smagulova.

Besides Kazakhstan students there were cadets from Russia, Vietnam, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The students, communicating with representatives of delegations from different countries, were able to learn a lot about the traditions and customs of the countries of South-East Asia.

One of the main events of the visit was a military parade to mark the Republic Day of India and Army Day.

Representatives of foreign delegations were invited by the host country on this solemn and grandiose event.

Members of the delegation visited the main sights of New Delhi City: National Museum, Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb, Lotus Temple and Agra, Jaipur, where they could get acquainted with one of the wonders of the world -the Taj Mahal monument.

I express confidence that the cooperation on the youth exchange program between al- Farabi Kazakh National University and National Cadet Corps will give impetus and momentum of our productive cooperation in the field of military education between the two countries for the benefit and prosperity of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of India.

I want to underline the solemn and ceremonial meetings of delegations with the senior officials of India: President of the Republic of India, Prime Minister of the Republic of India, Minister of Defense, Chief of the General Staff of the Indian Army, as well as the Commanders of the Army, Navy and Air Force.

During the meetings we were admired the simplicity, kindness and hospitality of Indian people.

I would like to express my deep gratitude for a good job undertaken for the development of international relations between our countries, Ambassador of the Republic of India in Kazakhstan Mr. Harsh Jain, military Attache Colonel L.Lidder and the Director General NCC, Lieutenant General A. Chakravarty for the warm reception of our delegation, and the leadership of al-Farabi Kazakh National University – Rector of the University - academician, Doctor of Technical Sciences Mutanov G.M., the first Vice-Rector of the University -Doctor of Chemistry Sciences Burkitbayev M.M. for their active assistance in organization of interaction and cooperation.
