KazNU Al-Farabi has become the first University in Central Asia, where the world’s famous company Hewlett-Packard (HP) opens its representation. University and HP have signed a Memorandum on the establishment of a modern training and research center.

Teaching and Research Center at the University will be established within the program "HP Institute of Technology" and will be equipped with HP software. The project is implemented with the support of HP Business Development Organization in emerging markets (Growth Market Organization) and the HP Board in Central and Eastern Europe.
In the ceremony of signing the Memorandum attended the Minister of Education and Science Bakhytzhan Zhumagulov, Rector of the KazNU Al-Farabi academic Galym Mutanov, CEO of HP in Kazakhstan Erlan Duysenbin, Head of the educational and scientific programs of HP in Central and Eastern Europe Igor Beloussov, teachers and students of the University, IT specialists.
The main purpose of training and research center is to improve the knowledge and skills of students and teachers at the expense of modern training programs based on HP technologies.

"KazNU Al-Farabi - is a major scientific, educational and innovation center, which generates new knowledge, innovative ideas and technologies. The opening of HP Center will allow our students the access to HP educational resources and research data, and teachers will share experiences with colleagues from leading European Universities participating in the HP IT Program. This increases the competitiveness of the University and graduates"- said Rector of the University Galym Mutanov.

Management of the Centre from HP will be done by manager of HP IT Technology Institute, from the University - the coordinator. Undergraduates, Master and PhD students, teachers from all Faculties will have opportunities to train on the basis of the center.
"HP company will offer training program that will be adapted by University teachers and included into the curriculum in the Faculties in the form of lectures, special courses and practical lab work. Also, the program will be used for professional development programs for teachers with issue of certificates - says Erlan Duysenbin, Director of HP in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

KazNU has become one of 25 Universities in Central and Eastern Europe that joined the HP IT program. The program was created in 2008 specifically for Russian Universities, and its uniqueness and first successes allowed it to become internationally recognized program after one year of work.

"The program HP IT has received a lot of positive feedback from Russian and European Universities participating in, and HP has decided to expand the geography of the program, including strategic markets, and in the first place - Kazakhstan", - Igor Beloussov, Director of HP training and research programs in Central and Eastern Europe.

The program provides the exchange of courses among the participating universities in order to achieve maximum effect from the developed training materials for the entire IT HP community. In addition, in the frame of the program it is planned to organize lectures of HP professionals and visiting professors, as well as other areas of supporting students and teachers.
