At the Kazakh national university of al-Farabi the 42nd International scientific and methodical conference «Innovations in educational activity and questions of improvement of quality of training» which was devoted to innovative methods of training in educational process and to problems of improvement of quality of education on January 27-28, 2012 took place.

Within plenary session academician Mutanov Galimkair Mutanovich and the professor of Open university of Great Britain Benjamin Mestel (as Benjamin Mestel, The Open University, Department Mathematics And Statistics, Senior Lecturer in Mathematics), and also the professor of the Colombian university Rafis Abazov (Rafis Abazov, Columbia University, Earth Institute, Director of Global Classroom project) acted the rector TREASURY of al-Farabi, the professor of university Tsukuba Lesley Tkach-Kavasaki (Leslie Tkach-Kawasaki, University of Tsukuba, Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Professor) acted online in a format of digital Workshop “Case Study”.

More than 400 representatives of higher education institutions, the research centers and funds of foreign countries took part in work of conference (Spain, Japan, Great Britain, the USA, Turkey) and CIS countries, including leading professors of the Moscow State University of Lomonosov and RUDN, and also leading Kazakhstan scientists and teachers.

Work of conference passed in the following directions:

- Innovative methods in the educational process, new forms SRS/SRM/SRD in the conditions of modular training (the moderator – Tkachenko Igor Mikhaylovich, Valensiysky polytechnical university, Spain);

- The Knigoobespechennost of educational process, creation of electronic educational editions (the moderator – Timothy Law, Open university of Great Britain);

- Integration of a science, education, production: the academic mobility, courses of employers, preparation of competitive experts (the moderator - Tymoshenko Victor, the Moscow State University, Russia);

- Technologies of training to languages and general educational disciplines (the moderator – Mehmet Arslan, the International organization Yunus Emre, Turkey, PhD)

Also within conference the round table «Realization of educational programs of a magistracy and doctoral studies of PhD - a key component of activity of research university» (the moderator – Ying Mayko, the International Japanese fund), and also the Interdisciplinary scientific and methodical seminar took place: «IT role in educational process», devoted to decade of chair of Informatics of the Kazakh national university of a name of al-Farabi (the moderator - Ahmed-Zacky Darkhan, the department chair of Informatics, TREASURY of al-Farabi).

The opening day of the 42nd International scientific and methodical conference coincided with the annual Message of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In recent years at university hard saturated work is conducted, it is a lot of innovations, changes, and they are realized. Therefore the Message of the President of our country, made in leading of our results, gives to confidence of correctness of a way of transformations of our university.
