Perspectives and development of higher education’s innovative activities in Kazakhstan

On May 12-13 , 2011 the Center for Applied Linguistics and Cross-Cultural Communications of al-Farabi KazNU opened the round table “Perspectives and development of higher education’s innovative activities in Kazakhstan” within Tempus project PERSEUS – Plan to Establish Research-Science-Enterprise oriented Universities for the benefit f society, TEMPUS.

All measures on monitoring were conducted in accordance with beforehand made plan, with insignificant deviations on times in one or another side due to unforeseen circumstances (plenty of persons interested to make speech est.).
The first day of monitoring began from meeting with guests – Sh. Tasbulatova, Coordinator of national TEMPUS office in Kazakhstan; C. Machado, EC director on international projects; K. Jokelainen, director of international projects management and development; M. Tankibaeva, PERSEUS national coordinator; Zh. Bimagambetova, project coordinator with al-Farabi University First vice rector on academic affairs G.T. Balakaeva. Reports on project activities in partners universities were heard as presentations (duration of each presentation about 5-7 min). al-farabi University and ATU were presented by whole commands, and regional universities were presented by 2-3 persons, that is explainable. Speakers were asked questions about project activity on places. Mainly, questions were about, whether there are successful examples of "from an idea to product" chain formation in the project framework.
