The Al-Farabi Kazakh National University celebrated the 90^th anniversary of Professor, Doctor of Philology, laureate of the prize named after I. Altynsarin and Zh. Zhabayev, Sultangali Sadyrbayev. 

The event was attended by Chairman of the Board – Rector of the University Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Doctor of Philology Bauyrzhan Zhakyp, public figure Nagashybek Kapalbek, famous academicians, professors and descendants of Sadyrbayev.

During the meeting, the rector of the university noted that Sultangali Sadyrbayev made a huge contribution to the study of the historical foundation of folk poetry. "Sultangali Sadyrbayev devoted his whole life to the study of oral folk art and folklore of the Kazakh nation. As a result, he wrote textbooks and monographs "Kazak khalkynyn auyz adebieti", "Zhambyl and folklore", "Folklore and aesthetics" and others. For 48 years he taught students of the Faculty of Philology and Journalism of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Today, the auditorium of the Faculty of Philology is named after Sultangali Sadyrbayev. This year, this auditorium has been fully repaired and replenished with new equipment," Zhanseit Tuimebayev said.

Well-known public figures, academicians, students of Sultangali Sadyrbayev also shared their memories. During the event the presentation of the book "Sultangali Sadyrbayev" took place, which was published in the series called "Gibratty Gumyr". The book contains biographical information about the activities of the professor, his research, memories of his close relatives, friends, students, colleagues, rare materials from archives.
