At the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi, the decade "Independence is most valuable" has started, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of independence and the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. On the first day of the educational event, the students visited the historical and cultural center "Atameken", where they got acquainted with the childhood and work of Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The "Elbasy Zholymen" expedition was attended by representatives of the intelligentsia, scientists - zhambylovedians, teachers and students.

Shamalgan is the village where Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev was born and raised. Since 2017, the Atameken center has been operating in this area, the purpose of which is to widely popularize the life, work, creative and political path of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as to strengthen the patriotic education of youth on the bright examples of the life and work of Elbasy.

The Historical and Cultural Center "Atameken" consists of 4 exhibition halls that tell the story of Elbasy's path from his early years to becoming a person. First, the students visited the first hall, which is dedicated to childhood, school years, student period and the beginning of the labor activity of Nursultan Nazarbayev. There are family photos, a model of the house where Elbasy was born.

The second exposition hall is dedicated to the main political events on the way to the formation of independent Kazakhstan. Here are quotes from the famous work of Elbasy N. Nazarbayev "In the stream of history", photographs of events within the framework of the Assembly of the Peoples of Kazakhstan and the anti-nuclear movement "Nevada-Semey", reflecting the main political decisions during the years of independence and large-scale events of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The third hall of the Atameken center is dedicated to the socio-economic development of the country, large-scale transformations carried out under the leadership of Elbasy, the results of the development of the Republic of Kazakhstan for a quarter century of Independence. It also shows the achievements of Kazakhstan over the years of independence in the field of agriculture, production, medicine, sports and educational and scientific activities, space exploration.

The fourth hall is dedicated to the achievements of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the political arena with the CIS countries and states of far and near abroad. It contains materials on the holding of summits and major international events in Astana, including EXPO-2017, world kurultay of Kazakhs, visits of heads of state and government of foreign countries.

The students were very pleased with the "Elbasy Zholymen" expedition, which became interesting and informative for them. “Thanks to the expedition organized by the leadership of our university, I met and received a lot of information about the life and work path of Elbasy Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev. It was a very educational day. I really liked it, ”says 2nd year student Akbat Anuarova.

At the end of the event, advisor to the rector of KazNU named after Al-Farabi Malik Otarbayev thanked the staff of the center and presented valuable gifts on behalf of the university.
