The Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the Department of Philosophy and the Al-Farabi Center, within the framework of the third Kazakh Philosophical Congress, held an international round table "Agyn Kasimzhanov - philosopher-scientist, Farabi-scholar", dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the famous scientist and the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The participants of the round table discussed the tendencies in the development of the philosophical scientific school, issues of creativity and personal qualities of A.Kh. Kasimdzhanov, his contribution to the study of the intellectual heritage of Al-Farabi in the context of the spiritual development of Kazakhstani society.

The moderators of the international round table were: Doctor of Philosophy, Professor of the Department of Philosophy, Scientific Consultant of the Al-Farabi Center Zhakypbek Altayev and Candidate of Philosophy, Associate Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science Bekzhan Meirbayev.

The event was attended by: Doctor of Technical Sciences, Deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alimzhan Kurtaev, correspondent of the newspaper "Argumenty i Fakty" (Russia) Andrey Beloborodov and PhD, professor at Ohio University (USA) James Petrik.

More than 130 students and scientists of A. Kh. Kasymzhanov from Kazakhstan, near and far abroad, was involved in the work of the international round table in a mixed format (online, offline). Especially for students who have just enrolled in a philosophy major, this day has become a wonderful day of meeting like-minded people. They are glad that the talented philosopher A. Kasimzhanov was able to hear the opinions of his students and colleagues, their memories, and the participants of the event got to know the scientist's legacy more deeply, having received an incentive for scientific research. Head of the Department of Philosophy Aset Abayuly noted that such events have educational value for future philosophers and will be continued.

Doctor of Philosophy, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan A.Kh Kasimzhanov became one of the first researchers of theoretical problems of philosophical thought and the legacy of Al-Farabi. With his direct participation in 1993, the Al-Farabi center was created at KazNU.

Since October 2003, in honor of the outstanding scientist, thinker, mentor A.Kh. The Kasimzhanov Department of Philosophy is holding an international conference "Kasimzhanov Readings" dedicated to the scientist's birthday.

During the work of the round table, which was held for the eighth time, topical philosophical topics were sounded.
