Representatives of KazNU took part in the International Regional Seminar "Quality Assurance in Higher Education: National Level Mechanisms and Institutional Implementation", which was held at Astana IT University (Nur-Sultan).

The seminar was held with the aim of promoting the formation of a culture of quality among faculty and university students by discussing and developing an effective national model for quality assurance in higher education.

The organizers of the large-scale forum were: NEO in Kazakhstan, NC ERVO together with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the methodological and financial support of the European Executive Agency for Education and Culture (EACEA) of the European Commission.

Deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, accreditation agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, rectors and vice-rectors of universities, heads of departments for academic work, deans and heads of departments, representatives of enterprises, students, undergraduates and doctoral students took part in the seminar.

The vast geography included the countries: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan.

During the event, the participants got acquainted with the practice of forming a quality assurance system for higher education in the EU countries. The analysis of the current quality assurance system in Kazakhstan was presented to the attention of the audience. In addition, the instruments for quality assurance at the national level, the experience of introducing internal quality assurance systems at the institutional level were considered.

The main speakers were international experts from the UK: Accreditation, Partnership and Policy Manager - QAA Alison Fels, International Quality Specialist Ian Welch.

The duties of the moderator of the group for the implementation of practical tasks for three days were performed by the head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data M.E. Mansurov.

GI, Kobenova - Chairperson of the Committee for Quality Assurance in Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan made a keynote speech on the topic "The current system of quality assurance in higher education: the point of movement towards efficiency".
