Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted the 1st Kazakhstan online conference dedicated to the development of an environmentally friendly transport park. The organizers were the leading university of the country together with the group-company "Uchet" and THEA.

The purpose of the large-scale forum was to form a platform for a constant dialogue between parties interested in the development of environmentally friendly transport in Kazakhstan, training personnel for this industry, as well as forming an expert community to interact with government agencies in matters of market development. The conference was attended by representatives of sectoral ministries, universities and business communities.

It was noted that in the context of globalization, when the world's population is growing, everyone wants to live in a safe world, and the planet's resources are limited, outdated technologies cannot ensure sustainable and safe development, the world must switch to new technologies. And in the transport sector, which became the main theme of the conference, such technologies mean zero-emission vehicles. Kazakhstan aims to outline the main trends in the development of such transport. “By combining the efforts of the state, science and business, it is necessary to identify the main problems and jointly, to solve them, ensuring the consistent and effective development of this topical area. The conference should become a permanent platform that unites the efforts of the state, science and business in solving technological and social problems arising in the development of electric vehicles in the country, ”the head of the university said in his greeting.

KazNU named after Al-Farabi, as a leading university in Kazakhstan, has opened the first competence center for the study of electric vehicles, in which students, undergraduates and doctoral students will undergo internships, carry out graduation works in demand for business.

On the basis of the center, urgent tasks with a high degree of commercialization will be solved: effective and safe methods and methods of repairing and restoring the performance of electric vehicle batteries, the development of qualification requirements and assessment methods and certification procedures for licensing activities for an authorized installation of charging infrastructure, a method for determining locations and connections charging infrastructure and many others.

     Within the framework of the conference, a round table "Car park / market" was held, where substantial reports were presented, such as "Used car market", "How to make electric cars available in Kazakhstan?" and many others. etc. In the section "Development of charging infrastructure" the participants highlighted the issues of production and installation of chargers, energy problems and the development of mobile applications.
